There is something quietly magical about Tuscany in the winter, the crisp air softening over the rolling hills, the misty light, and the unmistakable warmth that comes from gathering your favorite people under one roof. When B&C reached out from the United States, that intimate, soulful atmosphere was exactly what they envisioned: not a grand, hurried affair, but a cozy, meaningful celebration surrounded only by the loved ones who matter most.
From the very first moment B&C reached out, it was evident that this celebration had to be deeply personal, deliberate, and layered with meaning. Hailing from the United States, where winter cold is simply second nature, the couple never hesitated at the idea of an off-season destination wedding. For them, February in Tuscany wasn’t a compromise, it was the dream.
As we delved into their story, their shared passions instantly came alive: a profound love for vintage aesthetics, mid-century sophistication, and the magnetic glamour of 1960s Hollywood cinema. Yet, what truly shaped the foundation of their design was a simple question I always ask my couples: When you close your eyes and imagine your most peaceful place, what do you see?
Their answers painted an evocative picture. Alongside vast natural landscapes, they both spoke with deep affection about a sun-drenched pool in Los Angeles surrounded by swaying palm trees, a tranquil haven where time seemed to slow down. That memory became our creative spark. How could we take the sun-warmed nostalgia of retro California palms and translate it seamlessly into a crisp, historic Tuscan winter setting without losing harmony?
Deeply inspired, I crafted a bespoke wedding concept that bridged these two worlds: blending the cinematic romance of 1960s Hollywood, the exotic allure of palm silhouettes, and authentic vintage details with the timeless Renaissance grandeur of Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte. From ceremony accents framed by sculptural palms overlooking the winter hills to intimate, candlelit vintage lounges indoors, every element honored their favorite chapter of life—brought gracefully to life under the soft February skies of Tuscany
Stepping indoors at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte felt like walking straight onto a 1960s film set, the kind where effortless glamour meets classic Hollywood romance. Drawing inspiration from B&C’s shared love for vintage cinema, the design embraced timeless sophistication, soft nostalgia, and an unmistakable sense of drama.
Beneath soaring frescoed ceilings and flanked by gilded portraits, a curated vintage lounge area became an intimate centerpiece for the couple. Upholstered in antique damask and nestled within meadow-like floral clusters of soft ivory, dusty lilac, and blush, the setting carried the warm, cinematic mood of mid-century storytelling. As golden candlelight and vintage wall sconces cast a warm glow across the terracotta floors, Bethany and Chris paused together, radiating the polished ease and quiet romance of a golden-age love story, reimagined in the heart of winter in Tuscany.
To close the evening, we wanted to create a moment that felt entirely suspended in time, an intimate tribute to their shared passion for classic cinema. As Bethany and Chris took the floor for their first dance, the lights softened, and a projector illuminated the room with scenes from Roman Holiday, one of their all-time favorite films. Dancing directly in front of the projection, their silhouettes merged with the black-and-white romance on screen, transforming their first dance into a living movie still. It was nostalgic, deeply emotive, and a reminder that true romance never goes out of style.
